CAREY OLSEN: Carey Olsen advises Waton Securities International on Nasdaq IPO

Press Release from Carey Olsen, Friday 11 April, 2025.

Carey Olsen has advised Waton Securities International Limited (“Waton Securities”) on its initial public offering (“IPO”) on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the ticker symbol “WTF”, which successfully closed on 2 April 2025.

Incorporated in the British Virgin Islands (“BVI”), Waton Securities operates primarily through its Hong Kong-based subsidiaries, providing financial services including settlement services for HK stock, US stock and A-share stock, as well as one-stop IT platform services to licensed brokerage firms.

Carey Olsen’s Singapore corporate team advised on all BVI aspects of the transaction, led by partner Anthony McKenzie, counsel Susan McKinstray and Maggie Yan, and supported by paralegal Azmil Wahab. The team worked alongside US securities counsel Hunter Taubman Fischer & Li LLC and Hong Kong legal advisers Han Kun Law Offices LLP.

Anthony McKenzie commented: “Carey Olsen is delighted to have supported another innovative client in taking their business to the next level, and the success of Waton Securities’ IPO is very well deserved. The over-allotment option generated significant interest from the market, which is testament to investor confidence in both BVI and Asia-linked stocks.”

Carey Olsen Singapore provides clients in Asia with access to specialist offshore lawyers who practise the laws of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands and Jersey. Ranked as a Tier 1 firm for offshore law by The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific, the team is one of the largest offshore law firms in Singapore.
