CAREY OLSEN: Carey Olsen advises on sale of Guernsey hospitality business, Randalls

Press Release from Carey Olsen, Tuesday 25 March, 2025.

Carey Olsen has acted on the sale of Randalls, the Guernsey hospitality business which has been a feature of Guernsey’s hospitality industry since it was established 157 years ago.

Randalls owns and operates a brewery and distillery, retail outlets, an online store and 21 pubs, restaurants and hotels. The business remained in the Randalls family until 2006, when it was acquired by a group of investors, many of whom were based in Guernsey. It has now been sold to CI Hospitality Limited, a new consortium of local investors formed by Ravenscroft Capital Limited.

Carey Olsen provided advice across multiple areas of its practice, including corporate, property, employment and pensions. The corporate team advising on the sale was led by partner Tony Lane, assisted by senior associate Colin Calvert and associate Nicholas Branch. The property team was led by partner Jason Morgan, assisted by senior associate Kieran Ogilvie.

Tony Lane commented: “Randalls has been a client of Carey Olsen for over 20 years and we are proud to have shared its journey to becoming such a well-respected and integral business in Guernsey. We are delighted that the new buyers are committed to the heritage of the business and look forward to its continued development, both as advisers and loyal customers. The transaction required the full range of our expertise in mergers and acquisitions, and we take particular satisfaction from working on local deals such as this and steering them to a successful conclusion.”
